Job Description

Caribou Coffee is a well-established coffeehouse chain dedicated to creating exceptional day-making experiences that encourage a positive ripple effect of goodness in every community it serves. Known for its commitment to high-quality beverages and a welcoming atmosphere, Caribou Coffee blends unique coffee offerings with a strong sense of community and customer service. Founded with a purpose centered on TEAM, GUEST, and BUSINESS, Caribou Coffee embraces a culture where team members can be their authentic selves while making meaningful impacts through their work. The company values fostering life-long relationships with customers and believes in the power of serving not only great coffee but also joy, care, and attention in every interaction. Caribou Coffee operates primarily as a coffee shop and café, offering a variety of specialty drinks, baked goods, and food items in a warm, inviting setting.

The Team Member position at Caribou Coffee is an essential role responsible for embodying the core values and mission of the brand in daily operations. This role focuses primarily on delivering unparalleled guest service by creating memorable experiences for every visitor. Team Members craft top-tier hand-made beverages and serve food, ensuring the highest standards of quality and hospitality are consistently met. Beyond beverage preparation, individuals in this role engage actively with guests, building personal connections, anticipating customer needs, and providing enthusiastic recommendations to enhance the guest experience.

Team Members serve as versatile contributors within the store by fulfilling various responsibilities ranging from managing guest orders and cash registers to maintaining store cleanliness and organization. They demonstrate flexibility by rotating between barista and guest service roles to support the smooth operation of the store. Practical skills like following operational procedures for preparing drinks and food, handling cash securely, and maintaining sanitation standards are fundamental to the role.

More than just task execution, the Team Member role embodies the cultural spirit of Caribou Coffee by supporting fellow team members, fostering a fun and positive workplace, and taking ownership of their work with a learner's mentality. Members bring joy to their customer interactions and actively contribute to a supportive team environment. Resilience, willingness to ask for help, and the ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities simultaneously are key attributes for success in this position.

While the role requires physical endurance—standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and moving intermittently—it also offers the opportunity to engage with a diverse set of people and develop skills important for future career paths in hospitality and customer service. Caribou Coffee values diversity and is committed to providing equal employment opportunities, encouraging applicants from all backgrounds to join the 'Bou Crew' and be part of a company that not only serves exceptional coffee but also fosters inclusion, respect, and continuous growth.
