Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field
- one or more years of experience in tax, legal, customs or import/export trade
- proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- experience with RIA, BNA, Lexis Nexis
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- strong analytical skills and basic legal and tax research skills
- solid organizational skills and attention to detail
- ability to multitask successfully
- capable of working independently or in a team environment
- capable of managing and delegating assignments to tax professionals
- ability to build strong client relationships
- ability to interact with professionals at all levels
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics or related field
- juris doctorate degree, LLM, and/or MBA preferred
- one or more years of experience in tax, legal, customs or import/export trade
- experience as customs attorney, customs broker, industry trade specialist, US Customs auditor or import specialist preferred
- proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- experience with RIA, BNA, Lexis Nexis
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- strong analytical skills, basic legal and tax research skills
- solid organizational skills with attention to detail
- ability to successfully multitask
- capable of working independently or within a group
- capable of managing a team of tax professionals and delegating work
- capacity to build and maintain strong client relationships

- basic understanding of technical and practical tax and law issues and opportunities
Job Duties
- Researches and assists in writing and reviewing international trade advice related to the Harmonized Tariff Schedule, customs federal regulations, NAFTA, entry processes and customs valuation
- researches U.S. and international import and export trade matters
- formulates ideas and delivers possible trade savings opportunities
- works with Firm specialists and client service teams on client and proposal work
- collaborates on organizing and conducting internal CPE training sessions
- establishes relationships with BDO customs experts globally
- identifies opportunities and assists in drafting tax alerts on customs and global trade tax matters
- assists in managing client expectations
- acts as mentor to interns as appropriate
- performs other duties as required
