The position of Tasting Room Associate at Acme Hospitality plays a crucial role in this mission by providing efficient, knowledgeable, and friendly service to customers within their distinctive tasting rooms. This role revolves around engaging with guests warmly, taking accurate orders, processing payments, and delivering food and beverages promptly and professionally. The associate must work collaboratively with kitchen and bar staff, ensuring smooth communication to accommodate special requests and maintain order accuracy. Responsibilities also include preparing and serving specialty drinks, monitoring guests' dining experiences to anticipate needs, upselling menu items to enhance revenue, and maintaining a clean, organized dining environment. Adhering to health and safety regulations and proper food handling practices is vital, as well as complying with responsible alcohol service standards, including verifying legal drinking age.

Job Requirements

  • Two years previous experience as a server or tasting room associate in a restaurant or tasting room
  • Extensive knowledge of food and beverage menus, including wine pairing and cocktail recipes
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Professional and polished appearance
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Familiarity with POS systems
  • Exceptional organization and multitasking abilities
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Greet guests warmly and provide them with seating options and a wine list
  • Provide detailed explanations of the wines
  • Assist guests in selecting food and beverages by making knowledgeable recommendations based on their preferences and dietary restrictions
  • Take accurate food and drink orders, using a point-of-sale (POS) system, and communicate with kitchen and bar staff
  • Ensure that all special requests or modifications to orders are communicated correctly to the kitchen and accommodated as much as possible
  • Serve food and beverages promptly and accurately, ensuring proper presentation and adherence to quality standards
  • Monitor tables throughout the meal to anticipate and fulfill guests' needs, such as refilling drinks, clearing plates, and providing additional utensils or condiments
