Job Requirements
- At least 6 years progressive experience in a hotel or a related field
- or a 4-year college degree and at least 4 to 5 years of related experience
- or a 2-year college degree and at least 5 to 6 years of related experience
- maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
- effective verbal and written communication skills with all levels of employees and guests
- effective listening, understanding, and clarifying concerns
- ability to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
- approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner
- attend all hotel required meetings and trainings
- participate in management on-duty coverage as required
- maintain regular attendance in compliance with Highgate standards
- maintain high personal appearance and grooming standards including wearing nametags
- comply with Highgate standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations
- effective problem handling including anticipation, prevention and resolution
- ability to understand and evaluate complex information
- maintain confidentiality of information

Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Tour the operating departments daily, making adjustments as needed via department heads
- conduct weekly staff meetings including weekly training sessions following Highgate Hotel standards
- meet all financial review dates and corporate directed programs timely
- hold monthly financial reviews with department managers and supervisors
- ensure department heads maintain budgeted productivity levels and accounting procedures
- develop managers through competency and corporate training programs
- in conjunction with the Director of Sales, conduct daily sales meetings focusing on prospecting and account calls
- play a pivotal role in hotel sales efforts including client meetings and hosting events
- participate in required management on-duty coverage
- maintain direct contact and monitor management trainees
- adhere to Highgate policies and train new managers for compliance
- oversee and assist in the hotel budget process
- ensure training in service standards in each department
- assist in creating a positive team environment through employee development
- inspect rooms regularly with housekeeping and engineering
- ensure complete processing of invoices daily
- ensure timely submission of financial documents to corporate office
- ensure cleanliness and maintenance of property
- ensure employees interact attentively and courteously
- forecast monthly hotel financial position with accurate analysis
- conduct management interviews and hiring procedures per SOPs
- interview all final managerial candidates
- perform executive committee members’ performance appraisals
- motivate, coach, counsel and discipline management personnel per SOPs
- perform other duties as assigned by Vice President or Regional Director
- ensure fair and equitable treatment of employees
- meet clients on the property to assist sales efforts
- be present in public areas during peak times
- ensure hotel safe is secure and audits are conducted
- conduct monthly credit meetings and actively manage credit and collection policies
- complete required corporate training modules and obtain certification to train others
- ensure all scheduled meetings occur on property
