The Task Force General Manager role at Sandpiper Hospitality is a high-impact leadership position designed for a seasoned hospitality professional who thrives under pressure and rapid change. The individual appointed will step into the Acting General Manager role at various locations, assuming full operational control to stabilize property performance and ensure continuity until a permanent General Manager is assigned. This entails comprehensive oversight of hotel operations, including staff leadership, financial management, guest satisfaction, and maintaining high standards across all facets of the property.
This role is unique as it requires extensive travel and the ability to quickly adapt to different hotel environments with agility and precision. The Task Force General Manager is expected to drive operational success through hands-on leadership, ensuring that each hotel delivers exceptional guest experiences while meeting financial goals. The position is pivotal for protecting and enhancing the brand's reputation by sustaining high standards for cleanliness, service quality, and operational efficiency. On top of operational responsibilities, this leader will actively manage and motivate existing teams, crafting weekly schedules, managing disciplinary actions, and fostering a positive and productive workplace culture.
Additionally, the Task Force General Manager will maintain consistent communication with corporate leadership, submitting timely site reports and participating in corporate calls to remain aligned with strategic goals and initiatives. Job Requirements
- Willingness and ability to travel extensively
- at least 5 years of management experience in hospitality
- demonstrated success in revenue growth and financial management
- strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- ability to manage multiple tasks in high-pressure environments
Job Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of management experience in the hospitality industry
- proven track record of driving revenue growth and profitability
- exceptional leadership and communication skills
- strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- experience with budgeting and financial management
- experience working within major hotel brands such as Choice, IHG, or Marriott
- prior experience in a Task Force or multi-unit/franchise environment is preferred
- knowledge of extended stay hotel operations is an advantage
Job Duties
- Assume full operational responsibility as the Acting General Manager for assigned hotels
- develop and implement strategies to achieve financial objectives including P&L management and daily bank deposits
- manage, supervise, and motivate hotel staff while creating accurate weekly schedules
- ensure the highest standards of guest service through daily inspections and maintenance oversight
- complete and submit weekly site reports and participate in corporate calls
- facilitate smooth transitions for incoming permanent General Managers
- maintain property stability through strategic leadership and hands-on team management
