The Coal Shed Brewery Taproom is currently seeking a passionate and experienced Restaurant Manager to join its dynamic management team. This full-time role requires a dedicated professional who will oversee all operational and service aspects of the taproom. Reporting directly to the Director of Food and Beverage Operations, the Restaurant Manager works closely with other key team members including the Executive Chef, Sous Chef, and Private Events Manager. The manager will be responsible for ensuring smooth daily operations, maintaining high standards of customer service, and fostering a positive work environment for staff. The role demands a hands-on leadership style, with duties including staff hiring, scheduling, training, and disciplinary actions. The successful candidate will have overall responsibility for the profit and loss (P&L) of the location, managing labor and food costs intelligently to maximize profitability.

Additionally, the Restaurant Manager will oversee the maintenance schedule and facility needs, assist in kitchen operations to ensure efficiency, and support both public and private event executions, as the venue regularly hosts diverse events. Programming oversight, including entertainment like music and trivia, also falls under their purview, aiding in the creation of memorable experiences for patrons. The candidate will participate actively in management meetings that shape the future direction of the company and engage with the local community through associations and donation initiatives. The position offers a competitive salary range between $75,000 and $90,000 annually, depending on experience, along with performance bonuses. Job Requirements

  • At least two years experience in restaurant or hospitality management
  • Proven leadership and people management abilities
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Familiarity with restaurant operational procedures
  • Ability to handle multiple responsibilities including event management
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Capability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum two years experience in restaurant management or assistant management
  • Knowledgeable in all aspects of restaurant operations
  • Strong leadership skills with hiring, firing, discipline, and staff development experience
  • Expertise in customer service
  • Beer knowledge and brewery experience preferred
  • Residency in the local area is a plus
  • Demonstrates a positive, can-do attitude and readiness for growth and change

Job Duties

  • Staff hiring, scheduling, discipline, and training for front of house
  • Opening, closing, and managing floor operations to enhance customer service
