The role of Host Person at the TAP Sports Bar within MGM Resorts International’s Springfield location is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about customer service and hospitality. The Host Person will be responsible for welcoming guests promptly and courteously, managing restaurant reservations efficiently, and maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the workspace. This position is ideal for those who have two or more years of experience in a dining host role, possess excellent communication skills, and enjoy creating memorable dining experiences in a fast-paced environment.

Starting at a competitive hourly rate of $18.40, this role offers part-time shifts ranging between 16-24 hours weekly, primarily in the evenings, including weekends and holidays. The Host Person’s daily responsibilities include managing the reservation system, communicating special guest requests to the restaurant management and kitchen teams, ensuring menus and table setups are current and attractive, and providing consistent updates to guests waiting to be seated. Additionally, the Host Person will assist food servers and bussers when needed, contributing to a seamless service experience from entry to dining.

Job Duties

  • Greet guests promptly and courteously as they enter the restaurant
  • Manage reservations and maintain an accurate count using the reservation book
  • Communicate with Restaurant Reservations regarding special orders and requests and relay guest needs to management and the kitchen
  • Maintain knowledge of daily activities, table setups, and restaurant hours, ensuring menus are current and in good condition
  • Frequently check on guests waiting to be seated, assuring them that their tables are being prepared
  • Ensure cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas, shutting down the podium and forwarding phones to voice-mail at the end of the shift
  • Assist food servers, bus persons, and food service runners as needed
