The position available is for a Takeout Specialist who plays a crucial role in the restaurant's guest experience, specifically in managing takeout orders from multiple platforms such as Door Dash and Grubhub, as well as direct orders taken in-house. The Takeout Specialist is responsible for promptly answering phone calls with a friendly and positive tone while accurately recording customers' orders, carefully verifying that everything is correct before the order is finalized. This position involves more than just handling takeout; the specialist also supports front-of-house operations by greeting and seating guests and assisting serving staff in the dining area. The role is dynamic, requiring excellent communication skills and the ability to multitask efficiently in a bustling restaurant setting.
Key responsibilities include providing the same high-quality service to takeout guests as dine-in customers, informing guests about specials and menu changes, and making genuine recommendations to enhance their experience. The specialist answers questions regarding the menu, takes orders using the point-of-sale system, and ensures all packaging includes necessary items such as utensils, condiments, napkins, and branded mints. Maintaining a clean service area, keeping the to-go station well stocked, and handling transactions accurately by presenting checks and processing payments are also critical duties. Job Duties
- Provide the same quality of service as if the guests are sitting in the restaurant
- Inform them of specials and menu changes
- Make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy
- Answer questions about food and beverages
- Take food and beverage orders and enter them in our point-of-sale system
- For all food orders including Door Dash and Grubhub - ensure everything the guest might need to enjoy their meal(s) is in the bag(s) including to go silverware, condiments, extra napkins, wet naps, and Recovery logo mint(s)
- Make sure the to-go area is stocked for the next shift
- Maintain a clean service area
- Present the check to the guest, accept payment, process credit card charges or make change
- Thank guests and invite them back
- Assist seating of guests in the main dining area
- Continually support the Front of house staff with cleanliness, guest interaction including maintaining Covid related mandates
