In this role as a Sushi Chef Assistant, you will play a crucial part in preparing fresh, high-quality sushi rolls and other traditional Japanese dishes to be sold within the store. The position is full time and requires availability during morning, afternoon, and evening shifts, including weekends, to accommodate the store's customer demand. Compensation ranges between $17.50 and $18 per hour. As a Sushi Chef Assistant, you will work closely with experienced sushi chefs, learning traditional sushi-making techniques and honing your culinary skills in a fast-paced environment. Your responsibilities encompass preparing ingredients such as slicing fish, cutting vegetables, and preparing sushi rice, as well as assisting in making sushi rolls, nigiri, and sashimi following established recipes and presentation standards. Alongside food preparation duties, maintaining cleanliness and adhering to sanitation guidelines are key aspects of the role.
