The position of Sushi Line Cook at Jonathan Club's Beach Club is a vital role within the Beach Culinary Department. Reporting to the Sushi Chef, Head Chef, Executive Sous Chef, and Chef de Cuisine, the Sushi Line Cook is responsible for preparing and executing a la carte sushi orders, as well as catering occasional member events. This position demands culinary skill, efficiency, and dedication to creating an exceptional dining experience for club members. As a key contributor to the food preparation and presentation process, the Sushi Line Cook must master all sushi-related culinary tasks while strictly adhering to sanitation regulations and food safety guidelines. Holders of this position must possess a current food handler certificate and demonstrate ownership over their culinary station.

The Sushi Line Cook’s primary responsibilities include the full preparation of sushi dishes from ingredient preparation to plating, maintaining cleanliness and organization of their work area, ensuring efficient use of kitchen equipment including rice cookers, fryers, ovens, and grills, and managing inventory levels to reduce waste and maintain cost controls. Job Duties

  • Provide the highest and most efficient level of hospitality service to our members
  • Works in the designated sushi station as set by Sushi Chef and Head Chef
  • Able to organize the assigned work area and efficiently put away orders
  • Able to prepare and deliver the execution of the food dishes within recommended time frames to meet members expectations
  • Able to operate kitchen equipment to include but not limited to rice cooker, tempura fryer pan, ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers
  • Able to produce quality product in a timely and efficient manner for the membership or team members
  • Responsible to maintain cleanliness, sanitation at the assigned work area
