Cannonball, a dynamic rooftop restaurant situated within Belmont Park, seeks a talented Sushi Chef to join its energetic team as part of the park's Centennial Celebration. The role of the Sushi Chef at Cannonball focuses on delivering expertly crafted sushi dishes that delight guests through both exquisite taste and appealing presentation. The Sushi Chef will play a critical role in maintaining high standards in food quality, safety, and service excellence. Job Requirements
- Proven experience in sushi preparation and a fast-paced kitchen environment
- strong knife skills and knowledge of sushi techniques
- team player with attention to detail and a passion for excellence
- must be able to constantly stand and maintain mobility for up to four hours
- frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, reaching, and squatting to receive supplies and work the line
- ability to use hands to handle and control kitchen tools and machinery
- must be able to lift up to 40 lbs
Job Qualifications
- Proven experience as a skilled sushi roller proficient in crafting various sushi rolls
- expertise in fish preparation for sashimi and knowledge of sushi rice techniques
- strong knife skills, precision in presentation, and ideally, formal culinary training
- ability to accommodate customer preferences and special requests
- thorough understanding of food safety and hygiene standards
- exceptional quality control ensuring ingredients meet high standards
