Job Requirements
- Minimum two years of culinary supervisory or management experience
- minimum two years of sushi sous/cook experience
- ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- ability to sit and stand for extended periods
- ability to lift and push up to 75 lbs with or without assistance
- strong written and verbal communication skills
- proficiency with computers and POS systems
- ability to work irregular shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- maintain professional appearance
- ability to maintain confidentiality
- effective team player
- willingness to travel 5-25% locally within the United States
Job Qualifications
- Minimum two years of sushi sous/cook experience
- minimum two to three years of culinary supervisory or management experience in a high-volume kitchen
- two-year associate degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent work experience preferred
- strong menu planning skills
- leadership and team-building abilities
- problem-solving skills
- organized and self-motivated
- proficient with Microsoft products and POS systems
Job Duties
- Ensure the needs of the guests are accommodated
- ensure the general cleanliness of the heart-of-house and entire venue
- participate in interviewing, hiring, and training new applicants and team member development
- responsible for scheduling of assigned departments
- ensure safety, quality, and recipe accuracy
- manage the execution of regular service, catering, take-out, delivery, and events
- ensure compliance with health and sanitation standards
- coach and develop team members
- oversee repair and maintenance of equipment
- prepare and deliver menu-focus items to pre-service meetings
- proficiently use operational systems including payroll, inventory, and purchasing
- organize and develop new recipes
- complete opening and closing procedures
- communicate clearly with all team members during service
- lead and participate in training sessions and departmental meetings
- portray a positive and professional attitude
- assist with additional tasks as assigned
