Job Requirements

  • Minimum two years of culinary supervisory or management experience
  • minimum two years of sushi sous/cook experience
  • ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • ability to sit and stand for extended periods
  • ability to lift and push up to 75 lbs with or without assistance
  • strong written and verbal communication skills
  • proficiency with computers and POS systems
  • ability to work irregular shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • maintain professional appearance
  • ability to maintain confidentiality
  • effective team player
  • willingness to travel 5-25% locally within the United States

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum two years of sushi sous/cook experience
  • minimum two to three years of culinary supervisory or management experience in a high-volume kitchen
  • two-year associate degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent work experience preferred
  • strong menu planning skills
  • leadership and team-building abilities
  • problem-solving skills
  • organized and self-motivated
  • proficient with Microsoft products and POS systems

Job Duties

  • Ensure the needs of the guests are accommodated
  • ensure the general cleanliness of the heart-of-house and entire venue
  • participate in interviewing, hiring, and training new applicants and team member development
  • responsible for scheduling of assigned departments
  • ensure safety, quality, and recipe accuracy
  • manage the execution of regular service, catering, take-out, delivery, and events
  • ensure compliance with health and sanitation standards
  • coach and develop team members
  • oversee repair and maintenance of equipment
  • prepare and deliver menu-focus items to pre-service meetings
  • proficiently use operational systems including payroll, inventory, and purchasing
  • organize and develop new recipes
  • complete opening and closing procedures
  • communicate clearly with all team members during service
  • lead and participate in training sessions and departmental meetings
  • portray a positive and professional attitude
  • assist with additional tasks as assigned
