The open position is for a full-time Sushi Chef located at 333 San Fernando Boulevard in San Jose, CA. This role requires the preparation and presentation of sushi and related food products with a high standard of quality, safety, and customer service. Working Monday through Friday with varying hours, the Sushi Chef will demonstrate advanced knife skills and expertise in sushi preparation, production, and presentation. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Prior experience as a sushi chef or in a similar culinary role
  • Valid food handler's card preferred
  • Ability to work full time Monday through Friday with varied hours
  • Strong attention to cleanliness and sanitation
  • Availability to work in San Jose, CA
  • Ability to interact positively with customers
  • Compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Prepare and present sushi and related food products to customers
  • Demonstrate high-level knife skills and special skills in sushi preparation, production and presentation
  • Store foods in designated areas following corporate, state and federal food safety and sanitation procedures
  • Ensure proper food handling, presentation, portion control and maintenance of serving temperatures
  • Maintain sanitation of all equipment, supplies and utensils
  • Clean workstation thoroughly before leaving
  • Keep display equipment clean and free of debris during meal service
  • Interact with customers to enhance dining experience
  • Explain daily menu items accurately
  • Keep up with peak production and service hours
  • Perform other duties as assigned
