Job Requirements

  • must be 18 years of age or older or in accordance with state law
  • high school diploma or GED preferred with equivalent education or experience considered
  • culinary schooling preferred
  • must be eligible to work in the United States
  • ability to walk sit and stand for long periods
  • must be able to work different shifts including holidays nights and weekends
  • must be able to work overtime as required

Job Qualifications

  • minimum of 1 year of sushi chef experience
  • ability to maintain professional and courteous demeanor during busy times
  • ability to entertain and perform in front of guests
  • teamwork skills recognizing importance of each member's role
  • knowledge of food preparation techniques and equipment
  • understanding of industry standards on food storage and handling
  • previous experience in restaurant or hospitality industry
  • where applicable holding a state or local food handlers card

Job Duties

  • prepare side and sushi items according to portioning recipe and service guidelines
  • work primarily in front of guests preparing foods at the sushi bar
  • monitor and ensure portioning of foods prepared at the sushi bar
  • maintain cleanliness and sanitation of sushi bar and equipment
  • perform in front of guests and entertain as part of the dining experience
  • collaborate with team members to ensure smooth service
  • adhere to food safety and handling standards
