Job Description
Namo is a distinguished sushi restaurant situated in the vibrant West Village of Dallas. Renowned for its dedication to authentic Japanese culinary arts, the restaurant prides itself on sourcing nearly all of its ingredients, especially its fish, directly from Japan. This commitment ensures that each dish reflects the seasonal beauty and highest quality of Japanese cuisine. The meticulous sourcing process allows Namo to offer an exceptional dining experience rooted in tradition and freshness, making it a prominent destination for sushi enthusiasts and food connoisseurs alike.
At the core of Namo's culinary excellence is executive chef-partner Kazuhito "Kaz" Mabuchi, a master chef who honed his skills at the Michelin 2-star Sushi Ginza Onodera in Los Angeles. Kaz's innovative approach to sushi involves a deep, almost personal connection with the fish he prepares. He treats each type of fish uniquely based on its size, fattiness, and sweetness by curing, aging, cutting, and saucing it differently to maximize flavor and texture. This technique not only elevates the taste experience but also honors the natural qualities of the ingredients, ensuring that every plate served is a work of art that pays homage to traditional Japanese sushi craftsmanship.
Namo is firmly rooted in the Japanese principle of Omotenashi, which translates to selfless service delivered with genuine warmth and respect. This principle infuses every aspect of the restaurant’s operations, fostering a welcoming and harmonious atmosphere where guests feel valued as part of an extended family. Beyond being just a sushi restaurant, Namo represents a community of servers, hosts, managers, and chefs dedicated to delivering the finest hospitality experience. This culture of care and professionalism not only benefits guests but also creates an enriching work environment for its employees.
For those seeking a rewarding career in the culinary or hospitality arts, Namo offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package including health, dental, and vision insurance. Additionally, the restaurant is currently offering a $1,500 signing bonus upon completion of 90 days of employment, underscoring its commitment to attracting and retaining top talent. Employment opportunities at Namo provide more than just a job – they offer a chance to grow within a respected establishment that values skill development, teamwork, and cultural authenticity.
Whether you are a seasoned sushi chef, an experienced hospitality professional, or someone passionate about Japanese culture and cuisine, working at Namo means joining a team that strives for excellence in every dish and every guest interaction. With its strong focus on ingredient integrity, culinary innovation, and exemplary service, Namo stands out as a premier employer in the Dallas dining scene, setting high standards for sushi restaurants and hospitality professionals alike.
