Job Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in sushi preparation or similar role in a professional kitchen
  • Ability to work as part of a team supporting service flow and collaboration
  • Strong understanding of Japanese cuisine principles including sushi techniques, knife skills, and ingredient selection
  • Commitment to maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment
  • Positive, engaging attitude and willingness to learn

  • Familiarity with Japanese culinary techniques focusing on sushi preparation
  • Strong knife skills

Job Duties

  • Assist in preparing and executing sushi offerings including nigiri, sashimi, and maki rolls with quality and consistency
  • Help source local and seasonal ingredients in collaboration with culinary staff
  • Demonstrate proficiency in traditional sushi techniques with high standards for taste and presentation
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient workspace adhering to food safety standards
  • Work closely with the culinary team to support consistency and quality across all dishes
  • Contribute ideas and techniques to enhance the sushi program
  • Assist in training other cooks in traditional Japanese preparation techniques
