Job Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a sushi chef role in an upscale or fine dining setting
  • Experience balancing high-volume output with precision and elegant presentation
  • Strong leadership and communication skills in English
  • Calm, organized, and detail-oriented under pressure
  • Proficiency in modern kitchen systems, inventory control, and prep management
  • Familiarity managing a hot kitchen program is a plus
  • Experience conducting omakase service is a strong plus
  • Culinary degree or formal Japanese culinary training is a plus
  • Working knowledge of Spanish or another language is a plus

Job Duties

  • Lead the sushi program and oversee daily sushi operations
  • Prepare and present sushi dishes with precision and artistic flair
  • Manage kitchen inventory and prep to ensure efficiency and freshness
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the sushi station
  • Collaborate with culinary team to ensure consistency and quality across all dishes
  • Train and mentor junior sushi staff
  • Support omakase service and contribute to menu development
