Job Requirements

  • minimum one year experience as a sushi chef
  • knowledge of restaurant kitchen procedures and basic knife skills
  • understanding of food preparation and health code standards
  • ability to work AM/lunch and evening dinner shifts
  • capacity to maintain professional dress, speech and behavior
  • compliance with all safety and sanitation regulations

Job Qualifications

  • 1+ year minimum experience as a sushi chef
  • formal culinary training a plus
  • excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • knowledge of general sanitary and safety practices
  • able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed
  • able to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Prepares food items to order following established recipes and maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and food safety
  • follows safety and sanitation rules and practices
  • cleans work areas and all equipment used in food preparation
  • ensures all dishes meet federal, state, and local standards and regulations
  • creates visually appealing presentations of sushi and Japanese dishes
  • interacts positively with customers to enhance their dining experience
  • manages time efficiently to meet shift demands
