Job Requirements

  • Must successfully pass the company's sushi chef training program and cooking procedures
  • Previous experience as sushi chef highly desirable
  • Culinary degree a plus
  • Approved food handling training as required by local laws

  • Knowledge of food portioning, cooking methods, safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to use knives, hand tools, utensils, and kitchen equipment proficiently
  • Strong communication and guest service skills

Job Duties

  • Greet and welcome guests upon arrival to the sushi bar/lounge area
  • Prepare a variety of meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other food items using kitchen equipment including broilers, ovens, grills, and fryers
  • Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests and provide information about food
  • Ensure guests are satisfied with food quality and service
  • Perform shift opening and closing duties including cleaning the neta cases, cutting boards, equipment, and floors
  • Comply with the company standards on food portioning, cooking methods, quality standards, kitchen recipes, safety and sanitation standards, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain kitchen, cooking areas, sushi counters, kitchen equipment, refrigeration units and food storage areas clean, sanitary, and organized
