This full-time position as an Experienced Sushi Chef offers a competitive pay rate between $25.00 and $30.00 per hour, with excellent benefits available for those working 25 hours or more weekly. As a Sushi Chef, you will be an integral part of a dynamic culinary team, expected to bring at least two years of experience working in a scratch sushi bar or restaurant setting. Your role demands a high level of skill in sushi preparation including fish fabrication and storage, sushi rice cooking and seasoning, and exceptional knife skills. Precision, cleanliness, and adherence to food safety standards are critical, as is the ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced and high-volume environment.
Additional responsibilities include preparing food from scratch by following established recipes to ensure consistent and quality results. You will also be expected to handle a variety of kitchen equipment such as broilers, ovens, grills, and fryers to prepare meats, seafood, poultry, vegetables, and other dishes.
