The Server role at Flanigan's is integral to the dining experience, acting as the key point of contact between the kitchen, bar, and guests. This position involves welcoming guests with a friendly demeanor, providing guidance through menu selections, accurately taking orders, and delivering food and beverage with efficiency and attentiveness. Servers at Flanigan's must be knowledgeable about the food and beverage menu, including current promotions and specials, and be able to confidently answer guests' questions. The role demands a balance of physical stamina and interpersonal skills, as servers are expected to be on their feet throughout their shifts, assist in maintaining table appearance, run food and drinks effectively, and respond to guest needs promptly. In addition to front-of-house responsibilities, servers play a part in upholding restaurant cleanliness, restocking restrooms, and assisting with opening and closing duties.

Candidates for this position must be capable of standing and walking for 100% of their shift, performing frequent bending and reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds. English communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential, as is the ability to handle guest payments accurately using a Point of Sale (POS) system. Completing and passing state-required certifications, including the Florida Responsible Vendor program and food safety certification, is mandatory for compliance with Flanigan's and Florida statutes. Job Duties

  • Follows all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
  • Support fellow employees in maintaining table appearance, food/drink running, etc. as needed
  • Be knowledgeable regarding food and beverage menus and items, current food and/or drink promotions and specials, and answer guests’ questions verbally and clearly
  • Accurately write down guests’ orders and enter into POS system, in a timely manner
  • Retrieve food or drink orders from kitchen or bar area, and deliver them to guests in a timely manner
  • Ability to assess guests’ demeanor and identify when to summon a manager
  • Collect guests’ payments (credit cards, cash, or gift cards only), ensure transactions are correct using POS efficiently, calculate and deliver correct change to guests in a timely manner
  • Perform shift changes, opening/closing duties, assigned sidework
  • Restock and maintain restroom cleanliness for guests
