Job Description
IHG (InterContinental Hotels Group) is a global hospitality company known for its portfolio of world-class hotel brands including InterContinental, Holiday Inn, Crowne Plaza, and Staybridge Suites, among others. With a commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences, IHG operates thousands of hotels worldwide, combining a rich tradition of hospitality with modern innovation to meet the evolving needs of travelers. As a leader in the hotel industry, IHG focuses on delivering quality service, sustainable business practices, and engaging work environments for its employees. The company’s expansive network allows it to cater to diverse customer segments, ranging from leisure travelers to corporate clients, emphasizing service excellence and memorable stays.
This role is an essential position within IHG’s reservations department, offering an opportunity to contribute to the front-line guest experience by managing room bookings and ensuring smooth operations within the hotel’s reservation functions. The position involves assisting with supervision of the reservations team to maintain high service standards, training staff members on using reservation systems, service expectations, and local amenities to deliver outstanding guest service. A core responsibility includes handling guest reservations for individuals and groups, ensuring bookings are processed timely and accurately, and applying up-sell techniques to maximize room revenue.
The Reservations Supervisor is also tasked with monitoring performance of the reservations team, recommending corrective actions when necessary, and alerting management to any serious issues encountered in daily operations. Additionally, the role requires tracking cancellations, modifications, and booking information updates, while maintaining complete and accurate records related to room availability, booking forecasts, and occupancy rates. This position plays a vital role in collaborative efforts with other hotel departments to promote a cohesive work environment and high-quality guest service.
Ideal candidates will have prior experience in reservations or front office roles, including supervisory or training experience, possess proficiency in using reservation systems, and demonstrate strong communication and problem-solving skills. Fluency in English is essential, while knowledge of additional languages is preferred. The job requires some physical capacity like lifting light items and significant use of communication and computer skills throughout the day. This is a full-time position with a competitive hourly wage of $19.30, offering a stable career path with IHG’s global network. Candidates who do not meet every single requirement but possess a keen interest and relevant experience are encouraged to apply.
The salary range is considered in good faith and may vary based on multiple factors such as education, experience, performance, and location. IHG values diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunity in their hiring process and provides reasonable accommodations as necessary. This role may require working nights, weekends, or holidays depending on hotel operations and guest needs. This position is a fantastic opportunity to join a globally respected hospitality company where career growth, teamwork, and delivering memorable guest experiences are key priorities.
