Job Requirements

  • US citizenship is required
  • Selective Service Registration is required for males born after 12/31/1959
  • Must submit an SF50 form
  • Designated or random drug testing is required
  • Must submit FAA Form 3330-43 (Rating of AT Experience)
  • May be subject to a background investigation
  • A one-year probationary period may be required
  • May be required to file a financial disclosure statement
  • Must pass a medical exam or maintain medical clearance
  • Selection contingent upon satisfactory security clearance
  • Position is covered under the Department of Transportation's Drug and Alcohol Testing Program
  • Must complete and submit all required application forms by the closing date

Job Qualifications

  • Must have held an FAA 2152 FV-J/FG-14 or above regional or headquarters position for at least one year
  • OR must have been facility rated or area certified for at least one year in an ATS facility
  • OR must have held an MSS position for at least one year in an ATS facility
  • Must meet FAA Managerial Workforce Planning Selection Factors, Dimensions 1 through 4
  • Must provide detailed explanation of possession of Managerial Workforce Planning Selection Factors in application
  • QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE MET BY CLOSING DATE of the announcement

Job Duties

  • Serve as an Operations Supervisor in an ATC-7 level terminal facility
  • Supervise a staff of Air Traffic Control Specialists responsible for air traffic control assignments
  • Plan and assign work to subordinate employees
  • Set work priorities and schedules
  • Approve leave and provide advice, counsel, and instruction to employees
  • Evaluate employee performance and recommend performance ratings
  • Hear and resolve complaints and refer serious grievances to higher-level management
  • Identify and arrange for developmental and training needs of employees
  • Improve production efficiency and quality of work
  • Adjust staffing levels and work procedures based on higher-level resource decisions
  • Recommend and track goals and objectives for the area
  • Communicate and reinforce diversity and EEO policies
  • Support the labor management partnership and foster a fair work environment
