Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • high school diploma or GED or culinary school graduate
  • 36 months food services experience including 12 months supervisory experience
  • skilled in safe, sanitary food handling
  • proficient with kitchen equipment
  • effective oral and written English communication
  • able to perform basic math calculations
  • able to lift up to 58 lbs and push/pull up to 100 lbs
  • able to stand and walk long periods
  • physical endurance for fast-paced work
  • able to walk between buildings and climb stairs as necessary
  • willing to undergo background and police records checks
  • comply with tuberculosis testing policy
  • willingness to work nights and weekends
  • exposure to chemicals and odors

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or graduate of culinary school
  • 36 months experience in food services including 12 months in a supervisory role
  • skilled in the safe, sanitary, and effective handling of food and cooking utensils
  • ability to use kitchen tools and equipment proficiently
  • effective communication skills in English, both oral and written
  • basic understanding of nutrition and portion control
  • ability to read and interpret written materials and menus
  • understands and demonstrates department core values
  • ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
  • physical ability to lift and handle materials as required

Job Duties

  • Supervise, train, and evaluate assigned personnel
  • determine work priorities
  • plan schedules
  • assign and review work
  • prepare food following recipes and portion control standards
  • operate kitchen utensils and industrial equipment safely
  • serve food courteously with proper portion control
  • transport food items to customers and serving lines
  • wash, sanitize, and store kitchen utensils and equipment
  • clean tables, counters, floors, and serving areas
  • assist with special events and catering needs
  • collaborate with other food services staff when necessary
