We prioritize diversity, equity, and inclusion, providing equal employment opportunities to all qualified candidates. Our robust benefits package and competitive salaries reflect our dedication to supporting our employees' well-being and growth.
The Transportation Supervisor role at McLane is a critical leadership position responsible for directly overseeing a group of assigned Drivers to ensure safe, timely, and accurate deliveries. This position typically operates on a 3rd shift schedule from Sunday to Thursday, 8 pm to 4 am, offering a stable and predictable work routine. With an attractive pay range of $68,000 to $72,000 annually, the role is also eligible for an annual incentive plan with a target goal of 10% of the base salary. Employees begin receiving benefits from day one, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, along with a flexible spending account (FSA) or health savings account (HSA) and company-paid life insurance. Additional perks include paid time off, 401(k) profit-sharing plan eligibility after 90 days, pet insurance, maternity/paternity leave, tuition reimbursement, employee assistance programs, and more.
In this role, you will leverage your expertise in transportation management and food distribution industry knowledge to supervise delivery operations effectively. Your responsibilities will include reviewing driver logs and hours of service to ensure compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and other state, local, and federal laws. You will coordinate activities with other distribution center departments to optimize delivery accuracy and timeliness. This position demands proficiency with truck routing software and AS/400 systems, familiarity with Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Outlook, and Word, and the ability to communicate in English at a professional level. Beyond operational duties, you will contribute to special projects and continuous improvement initiatives under the discretion of the position supervisor.
The ideal candidate thrives in a teamwork-oriented environment, demonstrating strong organizational skills, a problem-solving mindset, and attention to detail. McLane values leaders who can motivate their teams, uphold safety protocols, and adapt to flexible scheduling requirements while maintaining operational excellence. Your role as Transportation Supervisor is vital to the company's overarching mission to deliver exceptional service to customers and foster a collaborative, engaging workplace for all employees. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your career within a stable, reputable company that values long-term career development and employee success.
