Job Requirements

  • An earned bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in business administration, hospitality management, dietetics, nutrition, or related field
  • A minimum of five years, within the last ten years of food service experience in a supervisory capacity, preferably in institutional food service or child nutrition programs
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Computer skills as required for the position
  • Valid Florida Driver's License preferred
  • Bilingual skills preferred

Job Duties

  • Supervise staff as assigned in the performance of job duties
  • Responsible for the operations oversight of assigned schools
  • Ensure that quality standards of performance are being met in all areas of the Food & Nutrition Services program
  • Evaluate reports to determine productivity, efficiency, and financial responsibility of operations
  • Identify deviations and implement corrective action
  • Review, evaluate, train, and recommend systems for better control of operations
  • Plan and execute all meeting agendas
  • Visit schools to evaluate performance
  • Complete evaluation instruments as assigned
  • Participate in the employee hiring process
  • Assist managers in developing personnel management skills
  • Develop and provide training for personnel
  • Participate in state-approved and educational initiatives
  • Monitor compliance with USDA Professional Standards
  • Ensure compliance with USDA and school board policies
  • Serve as a resource for nutrition education and wellness
  • Provide assistance in meal application process and program compliance
  • Perform yearly evaluations of Managers
  • Conduct meetings with administrators and Managers
  • Conduct federal reviews and program audits
  • Coordinate Summer Feeding Programs
  • Act as liaison between managers, employees, administrators, and parents
  • Provide technical assistance to administrators
  • Ensure departmental projects align with District's Strategic Plan
  • Promote compliance with equal employment and non-discrimination policies
  • Participate in training programs
  • Review current developments related to job responsibilities
  • Ensure adherence to safety rules
  • Follow federal, state laws and School Board policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
