The role of the Patient Care Area Supervisor within the Hospitality and Nutrition department is crucial to maintaining the highest standards in meal service and patient satisfaction. This full-time position, typically scheduled from 11 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, includes weekend and holiday rotations and may involve rotating shifts according to department needs. The supervisor is responsible for overseeing the patient care area within the department, ensuring that patient meals are accurately assembled and delivered on time to meet individual needs. They collaborate closely with the production team to monitor food quality for patient tray lines and oversee short order cooking during meal service, thus maintaining excellent standards of nutrition and taste. Additionally, the supervisor is tasked with ensuring that daily supplies needed by other departments are assembled and delivered efficiently, demonstrating a cross-functional role that supports the overall hospital operations.

In the absence of other supervisors, this role takes on additional responsibility by monitoring and assisting production and cafeteria or special functions, ensuring smooth operations at all times. The ideal candidate will possess an associate's degree in management, food and nutrition, culinary arts, or a related field, with a bachelor’s degree preferred, along with management experience and a solid understanding of large volume cooking. They should have a foundational knowledge of nutrition, excellent oral and written communication skills, basic computer proficiency, and a commitment to obtaining ServSafe Certification within six months of hire.
