Job Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred
  • one to three years related experience and/or training preferred
  • one to three years experience supervising a team or another supervisory role required
  • current Food Handlers Card and TIPS Certification required
  • must meet state and federal minimum age requirement for serving alcohol if applicable
  • computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel
  • knowledge of restaurant database software a plus
  • knowledgeable about county regulations
  • ability to understand and implement BSRG dining standards
  • ability to read, analyze, and interpret food service industry publications
  • ability to understand standardized recipe format
  • ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • ability to speak effectively before customers or teams
  • ability to calculate food costs, menu pricing, discounts, percentages, inventory, labor standards, and volume
  • knowledge of profit and loss statements and capital project presentation
  • basic computational and budgetary analysis
  • strong planning, problem-solving, decision-making, delegation, communication, time management, and employee development skills
  • excellent written and verbal communication
  • consistent attention to detail and timeliness
  • ability to make independent decisions based on sound judgment
  • comfort with fast-paced environment and multitasking
  • flexible schedule including evenings and weekends
  • valid driver’s license required

Job Duties

  • Communicate the core values and mission of BlueStar Resort & Golf to support company goals
  • ensure superior standards of food service and quality meet or exceed expectations
  • partner with management to interview and hire food and beverage staff
  • supervise staff according to BSRG policies
  • train and develop banquet staff
  • maintain effective communication regarding operations, safety, and employee concerns
  • attend and support food and beverage functions such as corporate parties and weddings
  • support budget planning and expense monitoring
  • conduct monthly inventories
  • train new bartenders and manage bar operations during events
  • prepare seasonal drink specials and oversee mixology classes
  • perform additional duties as assigned
