Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalency
- At least 3 years of job-related experience
- Ability to work in a highly stressful environment daily
- Ability to exercise sound judgment based on information reviewed
- Flexibility and adaptability to constant change
- Capability to work with management and union groups
- Ability to read, understand, and apply contractual labor agreements and FAR limitations
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to lead and guide direct reports
- Willingness to work all shifts including holidays, weekends, and overtime
- Compliance with American Airlines attendance policies
- Ability to manually complete duties during system outages
- Ability to report to work regularly and on time
- Knowledge of 24-hour clock and worldwide time zones
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalency
- Minimum of 3 years of job-related experience
- Preferred 2 years of Crew Scheduling experience
- Proficient in handling stressful environments and making sound judgments
- Strong communication skills for verbal and written presentations
- Ability to adapt to constant change and work with all levels of management and union groups
- Cognitive skills to comprehend numbers, letters, and apply that knowledge
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks concurrently
- Knowledge of AA/APA contractual labor agreements
- Experience working in a 24/7 operational environment including holidays and weekends
Job Duties
- Coordinates the coverage of open pilot sequences at each crew base according to contractual labor agreements and FAR 117 limitations
- Assists Manager on Duty with daily operational requirements and allocation of open time due to irregular operations
- Supervises, leads, and guides a team of Crew Schedulers
- Conducts talent development activities including coaching, counseling, performance management, and recruiting
- Motivates team for continuous improvement of processes and customer experience
- Participates in meetings with IT for crew system development and provides pilot scheduling department input
- Leads grievance and pay claim research and participates in contractual material development and implementation
