Job Requirements
- Bachelor degree in aviation, management, business or related field preferred
- Two years of crew scheduling experience, including one year as a Crew Scheduler
- Aviation coursework highly preferred
- Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies, and collective bargaining agreements
- Strong technical skills with crew scheduling computer software
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally
- Ability to manage and train staff effectively
- Capacity to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Willingness to work shift schedules including mornings and evenings
- Flexibility to work on days off if needed
- Ability to handle confidential information
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Basic proficiency with standard office equipment
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in aviation, management, business, or related field preferred
- Combination of education and work experience considered in lieu of degree
- Two years of crew scheduling experience preferred, including at least one year as a Crew Scheduler
- Aviation coursework highly preferred
- Must demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in all areas of crew scheduling including irregular operations, crew vacation, transition, open time, bid closing, vacation relief, and associated computer systems
- Must be a technical expert on all crew scheduling computer programs
- Excellent working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations, company policies and procedures, and Pilot and Flight Attendant collective bargaining agreements
- Demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of crew scheduling
- Ability to maintain professional telephone etiquette
- Developed communication and training skills
- Ability to interact professionally with a diverse workforce
- Ability to maintain composure and professionalism under pressure
Job Duties
- Supervise Crew Scheduling personnel and functions in compliance with government regulations, company policy, and collective bargaining agreements
- Provide leadership, direction, and training to Crew Scheduling staff
- Assist Crew Schedulers and crew members with operational and administrative tasks as needed
- Support staffing planning and special projects assigned by the Manager, Crew Scheduling
- Ensure qualified, legal crews are maintained once trips begin from the crew's home domicile
- Act as Crew Coordinator to monitor trips and reschedule crews according to qualifications, contractual restrictions, and regulatory requirements
- Identify and pursue opportunities for process and policy improvements
- Provide troubleshooting and training support to Crew Schedulers
- Assume responsibility for crew scheduling operations in the absence of Crew Resources management
- Coordinate with SOC, Dispatch, Flight Operations, In-Flight, and other departments for operational and administrative support
- Provide counseling and performance management to Crew Schedulers with documentation
- Check daily crew assignments, reschedule due to legality or sickness, and notify crews of assignments
- Maintain daily crew assignments, check-in records, and crew time projections
- Process monthly pilot transitions
- Maintain user access and security compliance for CrewTrac CMS
- Work with vendors to resolve CrewTrac and FLiCA system issues
- Ensure all crew scheduling systems and processes comply with pilot and flight attendant collective bargaining agreements
- Resolve scheduling discrepancies and elevated crewmember complaints
- Ensure adequate staffing levels for the crew scheduling desk, especially during irregular operations
- Document and maintain CrewTrac and FLiCA user status
- Assume management responsibility in the absence of the Manager, Crew Scheduling
