Job Description
This job opportunity is with a locally owned and operated McDonald's restaurant, which functions as an independent franchise separate from McDonald’s USA. The establishment is a part of the fast-food industry, focusing on delivering high-quality quick service dining experiences. McDonald's, as a global brand, is recognized for its commitment to quality, speed of service, and cleanliness standards, but this specific restaurant is managed by an independent franchise owner who handles all employment and operational decisions. This ensures the restaurant remains responsive to local market needs while maintaining the core values and customer service principles that McDonald’s is famous for.
The Supervisor role is a pivotal leadership position within this franchise. This position is responsible for ensuring that the restaurant operates profitably while consistently meeting McDonald's critical standards for quality, service, and cleanliness. These operational standards are rigorous, demanding a high level of attention to detail and commitment to excellence. The Supervisor works closely with the restaurant leadership team, including General Managers, to set clear operational goals and devise strategies that align with those objectives. The role requires not only overseeing daily restaurant activities but also driving the restaurant team to exceed customer expectations and maintain high standards consistently.
Unlike many supervisory roles, this position carries the responsibility of overseeing multiple restaurants, meaning the Supervisor must lead and support a team of General Managers across different locations. This multi-unit leadership aspect emphasizes the need for strong coaching skills, goal-setting capabilities, and accountability management to ensure each restaurant meets its performance targets. The Supervisor plays a critical role in the financial success of the restaurants by managing Profit and Loss (P&L) statements and ensuring operational efficiency and cost management.
In addition to operational leadership, the Supervisor contributes to the team-building efforts by participating in hiring decisions and developing both management and hourly staff. This includes recruiting and mentoring Department and Shift Managers as well as salaried management personnel. Building a robust leadership pipeline is essential to sustaining the restaurant's success and preparing for future growth. The ideal candidate for this position will have extensive supervisory experience, particularly in high-volume quick service restaurants or similar retail or hospitality settings. This experience is key to understanding the fast-paced environment and customer-centric approach necessary for the successful operation of such a restaurant.
The franchise offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package that supports employees' professional and personal development. Benefits include paid vacation, educational opportunities through the Archways to Opportunity program, medical, dental, and vision coverage, short- and long-term disability, life and accident insurance, service awards, an employee resource connection, and a bonus program, among other perks. These benefits reflect the franchisee’s commitment to fostering a supportive workplace that values employee growth and well-being.
By choosing to work in this franchise-operated McDonald’s, employees understand they are part of a vibrant community dedicated to quality food service and exceptional customer experiences, all while enjoying the backing of a globally recognized brand. This role offers a significant opportunity for career advancement within a dynamic multi-unit restaurant environment, emphasizing leadership, operational excellence, and people development.
