The company prides itself on being an equal opportunity employer, committed to non-discrimination on any protected basis including disability, veteran status, or other bases protected by law. Marriott's commitment to wellness and employee well-being is reflected strongly in its Westin brand, which focuses on empowering guests to regain control and enhance their well-being during travel. The Westin brand embodies a mission to become the preeminent wellness brand in hospitality, emphasizing the importance of maintaining both physical and mental health for their guests and associates alike.
The available position is for a Bartender at the Westin, where the focus is on creating a welcoming and positive environment for guests while adhering to the highest quality and service standards. This role involves preparing drink orders according to specified recipes using precise measuring systems, issuing, opening, and serving wine and champagne bottles, and maintaining the cleanliness and condition of the bar area and equipment. The Bartender is responsible for preparing fresh garnishes, stocking essential supplies such as ice and glassware, and ensuring all bar areas are properly set up. Additionally, the candidate will handle transactions including processing payments, counting cash banks at shifts' end, completing cashier reports, and securing financial assets responsibly. Security and safety protocols must be followed strictly, including securing all liquor and related assets, reporting any unsafe conditions, and completing required safety training and certifications.
The role demands excellent communication skills for welcoming and acknowledging guests, anticipating and addressing their service needs, and expressing genuine appreciation consistently. The Bartender must also develop and maintain positive working relationships with fellow team members to support a collaborative and efficient environment. Physical demands include the ability to stand, walk, and perform various motions throughout the shift, handling items up to 50 pounds, and moving through various surfaces and spaces safely.
Marriott and Westin provide a professional and supportive workplace that encourages associates to bring their passion for hospitality and wellness to life. The ideal candidate for this Bartender role should be passionate, active, optimistic, and adventurous, embracing personal well-being practices while contributing positively to the guest experience. Employment type and salary specifics are not stated here but are typical of hospitality service positions aligned with industry standards and Marriott’s competitive compensation practices.
