The Summer Outreach Coordinator position is embedded within the organization's Climate Careers program, which uniquely combines home energy and water-saving services with youth development. The program’s no-cost Green House Call service encompasses energy and water assessments, installation of efficiency devices, and client education. Youth participants deliver these services at thousands of homes each summer, gaining valuable personal and professional growth before advancing to paid externships in climate-related sectors. As a Summer Outreach Coordinator, you will play a crucial role in supporting the outreach team to generate client leads and book appointments as part of a regional grassroots campaign. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for motivated individuals interested in gaining experience in community outreach, marketing, and communications while contributing to meaningful climate and equity initiatives.

The role requires collaboration with the team to implement outreach strategies including tabling at events, community presentations, and phone banking campaigns to engage targeted populations. You will be responsible for scheduling and coordinating outreach events, representing Rising Sun at community gatherings, and providing excellent customer service to clients of the Green House Call program. The position demands excellent organizational and communication skills and the ability to effectively operate technology tools such as laptops, tablets, Google Suite, and Salesforce. This position reports to the Outreach Manager for the Bay Area and requires in-person presence with travel to events across Bay Area counties including North Bay or South Bay regions during the summer months.

This is a contract position running from May 11, 2026 - August 7, 2026, with compensation at $23.00 per hour for approximately 25 hours per week. The schedule is primarily Monday through Friday, with flexibility for occasional weekends and evenings as required. The position includes paid sick time accrual, reimbursement for phone and internet during the contract period, and mileage and toll reimbursement for work-related travel. Candidates must be able to pass background and motor vehicle record checks, have access to a reliable vehicle and phone, and be capable of physically performing the job duties including lifting up to 50 pounds and walking up to half a mile at a time.
