Job Description
The Y is a well-established nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening community through programs that promote healthy living, youth development, and social responsibility. With locations across Tennessee, Georgia, and beyond, the Y has been a trusted community resource for decades, offering programs that cater to people of all ages and backgrounds. Its mission is rooted in fostering inclusiveness, nurturing potential, and empowering individuals and families to thrive. The Y’s commitment to making a positive difference extends far beyond the walls of its facilities into the broader community through initiatives such as meal distribution, health education, and youth activities.
We are currently seeking a Summer 2026 Meal Delivery Driver to join our Food and Fun Team—a crucial role within our initiative to provide healthy and nutritious meals to children during the summer months. This part-time, seasonal position runs from May 29, 2026, through August 10, 2026, with shifts Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The ideal candidate will be passionate about making a difference and ensuring that children in our community receive quality meals in a timely and safe manner.
The Meal Delivery Driver plays an essential role in organizing, transporting, and distributing meals and related materials to various sponsor sites. This position not only involves safe and efficient operation of delivery vehicles but also requires attention to detail in maintaining cleanliness and verifying records to meet program standards. Working closely with the kitchen manager, the driver will assist with food preparation tasks when necessary and ensure that all equipment involved in meal delivery is cleaned and maintained regularly.
Beyond the responsibilities, the Y offers a collaborative and supportive work environment dedicated to professional growth and community impact. Employees receive training in CPR, First Aid, and AED certification shortly after beginning the role, ensuring a safe and health-conscious workplace. New employees will undergo orientation and program-specific training to equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to succeed. This job offers more than just a paycheck—it provides a chance to be part of a team that values purpose, service, and the betterment of communities. Join the Y's Food and Fun Team to help create a better summer experience for children and contribute meaningfully to public health and community well-being.
