The Event Services Intern role at Ingram Micro offers an exciting opportunity to join their dynamic team in Buffalo, NY. This position is part of their highly coveted 10-week paid Summer Internship Program designed for college and university students eager to expand their skills in a real-world corporate setting. The internship encompasses 40 hours per week on a hybrid schedule that blends work-from-office days with remote work, allowing interns to gain hands-on experience in event planning and execution. During the program, interns will engage in a variety of tasks including assisting with onsite events such as local happy hours, campus events, and supporting teammates in planning larger corporate gatherings.

Interns will learn core responsibilities of corporate event planning, covering budgeting, hotel sourcing, registration website creation, reporting, and ordering food, beverages, and décor for onsite functions. This comprehensive exposure equips interns with critical skills relevant to marketing, event coordination, hospitality, and corporate communications. Job Requirements

  • Actively enrolled in an accredited college/university program or recently graduated
  • Available for a 10-week paid summer internship
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a hybrid schedule including required in-office days
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and related software
  • Willingness to support event planning and execution
  • Ability to pass a drug test and pre-employment background check

Job Qualifications

  • Actively enrolled in an accredited college/university program or recently graduated within the last semester/quarter
  • Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Events or Hospitality preferred
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Adaptability and willingness to jump in and help execute onsite events
  • Relevant experience with software such as MS Office Suite, Office 365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint

Job Duties

  • Helping with onsite events in Buffalo, NY including local happy hours, on and off campus events
  • Assisting teammates with planning of larger events
  • Learning core responsibilities of a corporate event planning including budgeting, hotel sourcing, registration website creation, reporting, ordering food/bev/décor etc. for onsite events and more
  • Supporting event execution logistics and coordination
  • Collaborating with marketing and event teams to ensure successful event delivery
  • Maintaining event databases and assisting with post-event reporting
  • Engaging with vendors and suppliers as needed
