With the capability to reach nearly 90% of the global population, Ingram Micro has established itself as a powerful force in the tech industry. The company's diverse portfolio of products, solutions, and services, coupled with its innovative digital platform called Ingram Micro Xvantage, sets it apart in the market and drives its continued success and industry leadership. For those passionate about advancing their careers in technology and innovation, Ingram Micro offers a dynamic and progressive environment where individuals can make meaningful contributions while expanding their skills and expertise.
The Event Services Intern position at Ingram Micro presents a unique opportunity for college and university students to gain hands-on experience in corporate event planning within a leading technology company. This role is a part of Ingram Micro’s 10-week PAID Summer Internship Program, designed to provide students with an immersive learning experience and the chance to apply their knowledge in a real-world, global business setting. The internship is based in the Buffalo, NY office, with a hybrid work schedule that requires certain in-office days to facilitate collaborative projects and onsite event execution.
Interns will be actively involved in supporting onsite events such as local happy hours and university campus activities in Buffalo, as well as assisting with larger event planning efforts. The role encompasses learning crucial aspects of event coordination including budgeting, hotel sourcing, creating registration websites, reporting, and ordering food, beverage, and decor. This comprehensive exposure allows interns to understand the core responsibilities involved in corporate event management, providing a solid foundation for a career in events, marketing, or hospitality.
Candidates eligible for this internship program are preferably juniors or seniors, or recent graduates from accredited college or university programs, particularly those pursuing degrees related to marketing, events, or hospitality. The internship also emphasizes the development of strong customer service and communication skills, adaptability, and proficiency with software tools such as Microsoft Office Suite, Office 365, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint. Alongside practical event planning experience, the program offers cohort activities including learning and development trainings, executive speaker sessions, and networking opportunities, ensuring a well-rounded internship experience.
The internship pays a competitive wage with an annualized base pay range typical for roles across the United States between $43,800 and $70,100. Compensation depends on factors such as work location, job responsibilities, experience, and skills. In addition to pay, interns may benefit from merit increases, annual bonus possibilities, healthcare benefits, paid time off, parental leave, 401(k) plans with company matching, disability coverage, basic life insurance, and wellbeing benefits.
