The role of Summer Food Service Program Delivery Driver is a crucial part of this extensive network. This position involves the daily delivery of meals from the Seattle School District Central Kitchen to various sites throughout the city. It is a full-time summer role running from approximately June 10 through August 25, 2026, with typical working hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The position demands punctuality, attention to detail, and the ability to work without scheduled days off during the program period.

Candidates will be responsible for operating a city-issued vehicle safely along pre-assigned routes, ensuring the timely and accurate delivery of breakfasts, lunches, snacks, and shelf-stable meals to designated sites. In addition to meal delivery, duties include transporting program materials such as banners and sandwich boards, maintaining accurate records of meal counts, and occasionally assisting program monitors with paperwork. This is a physically active role, requiring the ability to stand, walk, bend for extended periods, and lift packages weighing up to 50 pounds. Employees must also be prepared to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

The position requires a solid understanding of Seattle's geography and roads, a relatively clean driving record, and the capacity to work collaboratively with program staff, school district personnel, and site personnel. The work environment is dynamic and community-centered, providing an opportunity to be directly involved in serving diverse populations and supporting a valuable public service. While this job is not eligible for benefits, it offers meaningful engagement in community service, an active outdoor work atmosphere, and a competitive hourly wage ranging from $27.92 to $32.47.
