Job Description

Bogus Basin is the largest nonprofit Mountain Recreation Area in the United States, located in the Boise National Forest just 16 miles from Boise, Idaho. This unique mountain destination offers year-round outdoor activities including skiing, snowboarding, mountain biking, hiking, and scenic chairlift rides. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, Bogus Basin is dedicated to providing accessible and affordable outdoor recreation, education, and community programming that enriches the lives of residents and visitors alike. Every dollar earned is reinvested back into the mountain and its people, fostering a mission-driven culture focused on kindness, respect, professionalism, and fun. The organization is deeply committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment not only for its guests but also for its employees, valuing diversity and equal employment opportunities across race, age, sex, disability, and other protected statuses.

The role of Food & Beverage Cook at Bogus Basin offers a distinctive opportunity to work in a vibrant mountain setting while enjoying the conveniences of nearby Boise, a city known for its growing economy, diverse food scene, and vibrant arts culture. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about cooking and serving quality food in a dynamic environment that values community and outdoor recreation. As a Food & Beverage Cook, you will be essential in preparing and cooking various menu items efficiently and accurately to ensure that guests have an exceptional dining experience. You will contribute to a positive atmosphere by maintaining high health and safety standards in the kitchen and supporting your colleagues to deliver outstanding service. Working closely with a team of dedicated food service professionals, you will help fuel adventures for visitors by providing delicious meals that enhance their mountain experience.

Your typical workday will involve preparing food with attention to quality and consistency while adhering to Bogus Basin’s and local health regulations. Keeping your work area clean and organized is crucial, as is assisting with broader cleaning duties within the Food & Beverage department. You will be interacting regularly with guests and team members, providing excellent customer service and fostering a friendly and professional environment. This role requires someone with strong customer service skills, a positive attitude, and the physical ability to handle kitchen tasks such as lifting, standing for long periods, and working in sometimes challenging indoor and outdoor conditions. Whether you are an experienced cook or new to the food industry but eager to learn, Bogus Basin offers a supportive workplace environment where you can grow professionally while enjoying the natural beauty and recreational opportunities of mountain life.

This seasonal employment opportunity comes with exclusive perks, including free or discounted passes for employees and their families, resort discounts, and the chance to return seasonally. If you are looking to be part of an organization with a mission to create great days on the mountain and are passionate about food and community, Bogus Basin invites you to apply and become part of their True Bogus Spirit team.
