Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous food and beverage service experience preferred
  • Ability to work flexible shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to handle cash and operate service equipment
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Willingness to work as part of a team
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of guest information

Job Duties

  • Promptly and warmly greet guests in the dining room
  • Takes food and beverage orders in an efficient manner following established steps of service
  • Delivers food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food handling and sanitation standards
  • Follows up periodically to assist with any additional needs or requests
  • Demonstrates complete understanding of menu items and ingredients and advises guests on appropriate food and drink combinations
  • Communicates directly with back-of-the-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated
  • Handles cash transactions following proper cash-handling procedures
  • Promotes a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests
  • Addresses complaints or issues promptly and relays relevant information to supervisor
  • Ensures dining room is properly set up prior to and after service period and maintains sanitation standards
  • Operates equipment such as fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea/soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines
  • Collaborates with staff from other departments during special events and functions
  • Performs other duties as assigned
