We are currently seeking a Substitute Utility Steward to join our esteemed Stewarding team at the Mandarin Oriental New York within the Culinary and Food & Beverage Department. This role is essential in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and organization in our kitchen and food service areas. The Substitute Utility Steward will be responsible for a variety of tasks including pot and dish washing, garbage and box removal, silver polishing, sweeping, mopping, and cleaning kitchen coolers and surrounding areas. Flexibility, a positive attitude, and a willingness to assist in kitchen plating when necessary are fundamental attributes for success in this role.

The role requires a team player who values integrity and respect and embraces a growth mindset. The Substitute Utility Steward contributes to the overall mission and goals of the stewarding department by ensuring all equipment such as china, glassware, and silverware are inventoried and properly distributed to outlets and banquet events. Adhering to cleaning and maintenance schedules, assisting the kitchen staff, and ensuring hygiene and control within the kitchen area are also key responsibilities. The role involves active communication with supervisors and colleagues, maintaining training standards, and supporting event functions with necessary equipment and assistance.

This position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $30.46 to $40.62, commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
