Job Requirements
- Communicate (read, write, and speak) in English
- Completed and submitted BVSD online application
- Must pass FS Online Training Assessment by completion of probationary period
- Offer contingent upon passing post offer physical
- Must be able to perform tasks on computers and peripherals
- Must pass math test upon entry
- Must have working knowledge of commercial large scale kitchen equipment
- Ability to operate equipment such as hand trucks and pallet jacks
- Ability to lift 50 lbs on a frequent basis

Job Duties
- Communicate the goals and philosophy of the BVSD Food Services Program
- Wash, peel, cut, or shred ingredients using high volume bulk production equipment
- Measure, weigh, prepare, assemble ingredients and cook according to standardized recipes
- Participate in receiving, storage and inventorying of food, paper, chemicals and supplies
- Maintain organized storage of pans, utensils, containers and kitchen equipment
- Assist with catering as assigned focusing on quality and presentation
- Ensure freshness by implementing proper rotation and labeling of food items
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, café and storage areas
- Monitor and record temperatures on cook/chill equipment following HACCP and food safety guidelines
- Use, clean, and maintain institutional food service equipment
- Foster a positive work and learning environment respecting equity and excellence
- Read and respond to emails and communicate effectively with internal and external customers
- Perform other duties as assigned
