Job Description
Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises Employment Services is a vital component of Cal Poly Pomona, serving as the largest employer of students on campus. With a commitment to providing students with valuable work experience, the Foundation engages approximately 1,500 Cal Poly Pomona students annually in various job roles that complement their academic goals. These positions span numerous fields, including technology, science, retail, culinary arts, hospitality management, leadership, and research grants. Job Requirements
- Must maintain good academic standing with a minimum 2.75 GPA
- must be enrolled as a full-time student with at least 12 units for fall and spring terms
- must possess self-awareness and appreciation for building strong community bonds and diversity
- self-motivated with strong organizational and critical thinking skills
- strong and consistent record of completing tasks by deadlines
- demonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality and a diplomatic, professional demeanor

Job Duties
- Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to college standards
- notify appropriate individuals of visitor's arrival
- anticipate and address visitor's needs
- assist individuals with disabilities
- thank visitors with genuine appreciation
- maintain the Student Canvas Calendar with event details and other college activities as directed
- prepare various classroom facilities and meeting rooms for groups and meetings, including basic food and beverage setup, coffee and tea service, meeting supplies setup, and documents
- set up banquet functions including table linens, china, silverware, glassware, centerpieces, waiting and beverage stations, and perishable items
- provide and assist with basic equipment setup such as audio/visual, projectors, cameras, and classroom tech
- prepare and place directional signage for meetings, events, and activities at The Collins College
- clear and reset facilities after meetings and events including trash disposal, dish clearing, resetting facility layout, and preparing technology for next function
- report basic facility maintenance and custodial needs including faulty equipment, safety hazards, and needed building repairs
- assist in maintaining electronic files
- present a professional appearance and attitude at all times
- maintain a high standard of customer service
- keep work areas clean and orderly, prohibiting food, beverages, and personal devices not related to work
- stay current on Cal Poly Pomona events, programs, and services to provide information and directions
- assist with general office duties such as scanning, copying, shredding, organizing, filing, and data entry
- assist with curating social media content, including taking photos and writing short captions
- remain current on Canvas, Outlook, 25Live, Zoom, Canva, and other software used by the college
- adhere to weekly reports, checklists, and operational procedures as outlined in the handbook
- provide outreach support including pre-tour setup, contacting prospective students and educational partners, maintaining information folders, and tour-ready materials
- prepare and distribute swag for the college as needed
