Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- one year of experience in retail environment
- six months of supervisory experience preferred
- previous lead experience and/or grocery store experience preferred
- ability to read and interpret safety rules and operating instructions
- ability to perform basic mathematical calculations
- ability to learn cash register functions
- knowledge of cash handling and security procedures
- understanding of inventory management practices
- effective communication skills
- willingness to comply with company policies
- ability and willingness to obtain food handling certifications if applicable
Job Qualifications
- ability to read and interpret documents such as diagrams, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- ability to perform mathematical calculations including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages
- ability to learn and perform cash register functions to generate reports
- ability to review operating statements and identify business trends including sales, profitability, expense control, shrink, and errors
- knowledge of cash handling procedures including cashier accountability and deposit control
- knowledge of cash, facility, and safety control policies and practices
- knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices
- good organization skills with attention to detail
- effective interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
- understanding of safety policies and practices
- ability to read and follow plan-o-gram and merchandise presentation guidance
- knowledge of and willingness to comply with company policies and procedures
- ability and willingness to obtain required certifications in food handling
- high school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred
- one year of retail experience and six months supervisory experience preferred
- previous lead or grocery store experience preferred
- attainment of required local and state food handling certifications if applicable
Job Duties
- assist Store Manager in ensuring financial integrity through cash accountability and security adherence
- follow company policies and procedures and ensure employee compliance
- maintain correct perishable stock levels using various order guides and sales history
- train associates in presentation, freshness, pricing standards, and safe food handling
- train associates in stocking and rotation of perishable products
- record perishables markdowns, analyze causes, and take corrective action
- accurately record inventory levels and assist with customer needs and requests
- ensure compliance with sanitation standards and train associates using cleaning schedules
- assist with other operational areas as directed by the Store Manager
