Job Description
Panda Express is a renowned leader in the American fast-casual dining industry, specializing in authentic American Chinese cuisine. Founded in 1983 in Glendale, California, Panda Express has grown to become the largest family-owned American Chinese restaurant concept in the United States, boasting nearly 2,800 locations worldwide. The company is well-known not only for its delicious menu offerings but also for its commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive working environment. Panda Express values family culture deeply, which is reflected in how it treats its associates, creating an empowering, respectful, and growth-oriented workplace that encourages both personal and professional development. Panda Express is dedicated to positively impacting communities and enriching the lives of both its customers and employees through a strong cultural foundation of integrity, teamwork, and quality service.
Panda Express is currently seeking experienced leaders to join its store management team as Store Managers. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals looking to advance their careers in the fast-paced restaurant management sector. The role is centered around effectively managing the daily operations of a single store, focusing on key responsibilities such as hiring, coaching, and directing store associates. The Store Manager’s main objective is to achieve financial goals while maintaining exceptional guest experiences to uphold the brand's reputation for quality and service excellence.
To set new Store Managers up for success, Panda Express offers an extensive paid leadership training program lasting eight weeks or more. This program is hands-on and designed to thoroughly prepare managers for the challenges and rewards of leading a busy store team. Throughout this training and beyond, new managers receive mentorship and ongoing career development supported by the larger Panda community, which prides itself on providing continual guidance and growth opportunities.
Compensation packages for Store Managers are competitive and include bonus opportunities based on performance, reflecting the company’s commitment to rewarding dedication and success. Panda Express provides free meals during work hours, a comprehensive range of benefits including medical, vision, and dental insurance for full-time employees, along with voluntary disability and cancer income protection insurance. Additional benefits include a 401(k) plan with company match, paid time off, paid holidays, bereavement and funeral leave, and participation in a Leave Share Program.
Further employee perks include discounts at theme parks and gym memberships, opportunities to contribute to community initiatives, continuous education assistance and scholarships, and lucrative referral bonuses. This role requires flexibility in scheduling, including working weekends and the ability to work within 50 miles of a designated store location. Candidates must hold a high school diploma and possess Serve Safe certification in food safety.
Working as a Store Manager at Panda Express means accepting the demands of a fast-paced, physically intense environment that requires stamina, effective communication skills, and adaptability. Employees must be capable of standing for extended periods, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working efficiently within a dynamic, sometimes noisy kitchen setting. Panda Express ensures compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by offering reasonable accommodations throughout the hiring process to promote an inclusive workforce.
Overall, this is a fantastic opportunity for those who are passionate about leadership, customer service, and the food service industry to join a respected and growing company that values its employees and their future potential. Panda Express is proud to be an equal opportunity employer, fostering diversity and inclusivity at every level of the organization and inviting applicants from all backgrounds to apply and thrive within its culture.
