Job Description

Panda Express, a leader in the American Chinese restaurant industry, is seeking experienced leaders to join their store management team. Founded in Glendale, California in 1983, Panda Express has grown to become the largest family-owned Asian dining concept in the United States with nearly 2,800 locations worldwide. Renowned for delivering exceptional dining experiences, Panda Express fosters a community focused on the professional and personal development of its associates. The company offers paid Store Management Leadership Training, ongoing mentorship, and robust support from a caring Panda community dedicated to your success and growth within the organization.

As a Store Manager at Panda Express, you will be responsible for overseeing the operation of a single restaurant. This critical leadership role includes hiring, managing, and directing associates to achieve financial and operational goals while ensuring customers receive outstanding guest experiences. You will be instrumental in driving the success of your store by employing effective leadership and operational strategies. To set you up for success, Panda Express provides an intensive eight or more weeks of store leadership training, equipping you with the skills and knowledge to effectively lead your team.

Panda Express prides itself on cultivating a supportive work environment where career advancement is actively encouraged. Managers benefit from ongoing career and leadership development opportunities, comprehensive training programs, and continuous education assistance, including scholarships. The company also awards a lucrative associate referral bonus recognizing efforts to grow the team. Employees receive extensive benefits, including medical, vision, dental insurance, voluntary short-term disability, cancer income protection, and a pre-tax dependent care flexible spending account. The 401K plan with company match, paid time off, paid holidays, bereavement leave, and the Leave Share Program all contribute to a comprehensive benefits package designed to support employees’ well-being and financial security.

In addition to competitive compensation and bonuses, working at Panda Express includes perks such as free meals during shifts and various discounts on theme parks and gym memberships. The company fosters a strong community spirit encouraging associates to give back to their communities which enhances employee engagement beyond the workplace.

Given the physical demands of the role, candidates should be prepared to work in a fast-paced environment that requires standing for long periods, lifting up to 50 pounds, and performing tasks in hot, noisy, and sometimes restrictive kitchen spaces. Effective communication skills, adaptability, and conflict management abilities are essential for success in this dynamic environment. Panda Express is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive workforce free from discrimination based on legally protected characteristics such as gender, race, disability, and veteran status. The company also ensures reasonable accommodations are available to applicants with disabilities to support their participation in the hiring process.

Joining Panda Express means entering a company dedicated to family values, career growth, and making a positive impact on the communities they serve. As a store manager, your leadership will directly influence the customer experience and the professional development of your team, making it a rewarding and fulfilling career opportunity for motivated individuals passionate about restaurant operations and people management.
