This particular role at TJ Maxx is focused on ensuring a clean, organized, and safe store environment. The position is vital in maintaining excellent floor care standards through the operation of cleaning equipment such as scrubbers and buffers, as well as managing various cleaning tasks like dust mopping, damp mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and spot cleaning of glass and windows. The role requires a commitment to upholding all operational, merchandise, and loss prevention standards set by the company. The associate will be cross-trained to operate in multiple areas of the store including the backroom, front end, and sales floor to provide broad support for the store’s business needs.

As part of the responsibilities, the associate ensures that all areas of the store—including the sales floor, single queue, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms—meet cleanliness and organizational standards. They also adhere strictly to health and safety policies, contributing to a safe workplace by maintaining essentials in lounges, restrooms, and front-end areas.

In addition to cleaning duties, associates will assist with front end coverage, support store merchandising philosophies and signage standards, and participate actively in store recovery efforts throughout the day. Effective communication with management and fellow associates is crucial, as is adherence to labor laws, including break and meal period policies. The role also involves vigilance in loss prevention efforts to minimize shrink and protect company assets.

The position offers a starting pay range from $13.75 to $14.25 per hour, dependent on relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
