The role offered is an entry-level baking position within Whole Foods Market. This role involves preparing and baking a variety of products that align with Whole Foods Market’s quality standards. Individuals in this role will engage in various baking tasks such as measuring, mixing, and shaping dough; monitoring baking processes; maintaining the cleanliness and organization of their workspace; and ensuring all products meet established company standards. Throughout their shifts, team members are expected to provide courteous service, assist customers proactively, and contribute to maintaining a positive company image.

Successful completion of the initial 90-day employment period may also lead to a raise in base pay. Job Requirements

  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Standing and walking for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday
  • Use of hands for grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, and pulling
  • Bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching motions
  • Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to work in temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Ability to work in wet and dry conditions
  • Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to use knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery
  • May require use of ladders

Job Qualifications

  • 6-12 months retail experience
  • Basic math skills for recipe conversions and modifications
  • Ability to use point of sale electronic systems

Job Duties

  • Measures, mixes, and prepares raw materials according to company specifications and recipes
  • Forms, cuts, molds, shapes, and bakes dough
  • Monitors cooking completion times and sets heat and humidity temperatures for proof box
  • Checks product to ensure it meets Whole Foods Market quality standards
  • Ensures temperature, sweep, and sanitation logs are completed
  • Arrives to work station on time, appropriately groomed, dressed and ready to work
  • Provides excellent customer service, addresses needs of customers in a timely and effective manner and models suggestive selling techniques
  • Maximizes sales potential through proper prepping, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product
  • Follows and complies with established procedures including weights and measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment
  • Performs opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned
  • Immediately reports safety hazards and violations
  • Performs other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership
