Job Description
In-N-Out Burger, founded in 1948 by Harry and Esther Snyder in Baldwin Park, California, is a privately owned and operated restaurant chain that has become a beloved icon across several states including California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Colorado, Idaho, and Washington. Renowned for its commitment to quality, In-N-Out Burger has maintained the same simple yet powerful philosophy since its inception: serve only the freshest, highest quality food, prepare it in a clean and welcoming environment, and provide exceptional customer service in a friendly atmosphere. This dedication has earned In-N-Out a loyal customer base and a strong reputation for excellence in the fast-food industry.
As a company, In-N-Out Burger values its Associates immensely, considering them a crucial part of the In-N-Out Family. The company culture is fast-paced, fun, and team-oriented, creating a work environment that is both challenging and rewarding. With thousands of Associates across its locations, In-N-Out offers a competitive hourly wage with regular opportunities for advancement and raises. Flexible scheduling allows Associates to balance their work with personal life. Additional perks include a free meal during every shift, paid vacation time, and participation in many fun events, fostering a sense of community among employees. The Educational Assistance Program supports team members in furthering their education, while profit sharing and a 401(k) plan provide long-term financial benefits once eligibility requirements are met. Full-time Associates are also eligible for comprehensive medical benefits.
In-N-Out encourages career growth from within, with all Store Managers and Divisional Managers having started as hourly Associates. The company supports ongoing training and development to help Associates reach their full potential. Every new hire begins at the Level 1 Store Associate position, receiving the necessary training to succeed and advance.
The role of a Store Associate at In-N-Out is dynamic and involves a variety of responsibilities centered around providing the best customer experience. Associates serve with genuine friendliness and enthusiasm, ensuring customer needs are not just met but anticipated. This includes greeting customers warmly, handing out stickers and hats, delivering food to tables, clearing trays, and expressing thanks for their visit. Associates handle orders accurately and efficiently at the counter or drive-through, manage food assembly to maintain In-N-Out's high standards, and prepare fresh produce such as peeling and dicing potatoes, slicing tomatoes, and chopping onions. Teamwork is essential, with Associates helping each other readily and maintaining a spotless work environment through regular cleaning before, during, and after shifts.
As Associates grow within the company, they gain additional skills including food preparation and cooking, offering ample opportunities for personal and professional development. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative setting and are passionate about delivering top-quality food and service. Prior work experience in customer service or hospitality is beneficial but not required, as In-N-Out provides comprehensive training to support all Associates. This position exemplifies In-N-Out's commitment to excellence, quality, and community both on and off the clock.
