Job Description
Walmart Supercenter #4631, located at 1100 5TH AVE, Hammond, IN, 46320, is part of Walmart Inc., one of the world's largest and most recognized retail corporations. Walmart is renowned for offering a wide range of products, including groceries, clothing, electronics, and household goods, with a focus on providing customers with low prices and convenient shopping experiences. As a multinational retail giant, Walmart operates numerous Supercenters throughout the United States, serving local communities by offering extensive product variety, competitive pricing, and exceptional customer service. The company places a strong emphasis on employee development, inclusive workplace culture, and comprehensive benefits, making it a preferred employer for many seeking retail and warehouse employment opportunities.
This position is for a part-time Stocking Associate at Walmart Supercenter #4631. The role involves unloading trucks and stocking new freight within the store's backroom and sales floor. Stocking Associates spend most of their time in the backroom and are responsible for ensuring that merchandise is properly staged for sales floor replenishment. This physically demanding job requires the ability to lift heavy items, often weighing over 50 pounds, and may involve the use of forklifts or other machinery to facilitate efficient stock movement. Candidates must be able to perform tasks that support inventory management and store presentation, helping maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked sales floor.
The associate will work in various shifts, including opening, morning, mid-shift, closing, and overnight schedules, providing flexibility to meet both store and employee needs. Besides the hourly wage ranging between $15 and $28, the role offers additional compensation such as annual or quarterly performance incentives and premiums based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. These premiums can vary from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour and can be cumulative when applicable. Walmart's commitment to employee well-being extends to a comprehensive benefits package, which includes medical, vision, and dental coverage, 401(k) options, stock purchase plans, company-paid life insurance, and various paid time off options like parental leave and family care leave.
Walmart also invests in its employees' futures through the Live Better U education benefit program, which offers full and part-time associates free tuition, books, and fees for programs ranging from high school completion to bachelor's degrees and short-form certificates. This role represents an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking steady, rewarding work with the backing of a global retail leader. The store ensures a drug-free workplace to maintain safety and productivity, reinforcing its commitment to a secure work environment for all employees.
