The Stewarding Supervisor role at Grand Hyatt SFO is critical to maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient back-of-house environment essential to the hotel’s high standards of guest service. Job Requirements
- Minimum 1-2 years of stewarding/dishwashing experience with leadership or supervisory responsibilities or equivalent
- Strong knowledge of sanitation standards and safe chemical handling
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lead a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Supervise daily dishwashing and kitchen sanitation operations for outlets, banquet kitchens, and events
- Ensure dishware, glassware, flatware, cookware, and kitchen tools are cleaned, sanitized, and available to support service levels
- Coordinate stewarding staffing and task assignments to align with meal periods, banquets, and business volume
- Perform hands-on support during peak periods including dish machine, pot wash, garbage/recycling runs, banquet resets
- Ensure all stewarding areas meet Hyatt cleanliness standards and comply with local health department regulations
- Maintain proper use, storage, labeling, and dilution of cleaning chemicals
- ensure SDS/chemical safety protocols are followed
- Monitor and enforce safe work practices such as PPE, slip/fall prevention, lifting techniques, machine safety
- Conduct routine cleaning schedules including deep cleaning, hoods/vents coordination, floor drains, walls, mats, trash/compactor areas
- Train, coach, and supervise stewarding colleagues on procedures, equipment operation, and safety standards
- Assist with onboarding and ongoing performance support

- Communicate daily priorities with Culinary and F&B leaders and ensure smooth shift handoffs
- Monitor par levels and organize storage for dishware, cleaning supplies, and stewarding tools
- Report equipment issues promptly and coordinate with Engineering for repairs
